There are tons of aftermarket kits to put LED headlights in this car. I need help picking something out.
It has standard 7" round sealed beam headlight bulbs.
There are several requirements for replacements:
- high / low beam functionality
- fits in stock mount
The main goal of the swap is lower amperage draw. The stock 1977 alternator in this car is 60 amps. The stock system struggles to charge the battery with the headlights on. There is a optional 75 amp alternator but it is bigger and heavier. The #31 is already over minimum weight.
In theory LED headlights should draw much less amperage.
The stock replacement came in glass and plastic versions. The replacements shall be plastic for the additional weight savings.
